Piece #1: Style

For this piece I chose a Social Media Plan I created to address an online dispute between the company “Dyed in The Hands” and an online customer. The purpose of this plan was to create a strategy to redirect negative online communications surrounding the company. I applied knowledge attained during multiple classes here at TRU where I learned to write different forms of statements, such as press releases and apology statements. I identified and narrowed down target audiences and designed creative, visual pieces through Canva such as infographics, posters, itineraries, brochures and social media posts. Acquiring these skills from these classes have enabled me to be able to create social media plans, crisis communication plans, and press releases for a wide range of audiences, tailored to specific needs. All of the above addresses exploration and knowledge as I have acquired, connected, and applied a depth and breadth of knowledge and skills attained over my time at TRU in order to create this Social Media Plan with it’s different components.
